Applications For Fastvein™ T&A

Increasingly, many businesses regard timekeeping and the accurate reporting of hours to be a critical factor in business control and performance. With the increase in use of cross-border labour, zero-hour contracts and a more temporary and flexible approach to staffing, it is an ever-increasing challenge to do this whilst not losing sight of other key management tasks. In some industries stringent project and contract cost management and health and safety requirements mean there is little headroom for cost overruns, whilst keeping staff correctly trained and performing on-track is a major focal point. Here are some of the sectors that we help:

Service Staff

Cleaning, Housekeeping, Waiting and Kitchen staff within the hotel, healthcare and leisure industries are typical examples of the markets within the Service sector that may have Zero-hour contracts and temporary staff where a Time & Attendance solution helps control costs.

Construction & Engineering

Factories producing goods from a production line and engineering workers typically work in shifts, and traditionally use Time and Attendance systems. Construction workers often have contracted labour time constraints and SLA's that must be met. Time & Attendance helps monitor this.

Call Centres

Call Centres and Telesales / Telemarketing staff are often paid based on the amount of time they spend on the phones. This means that managers are keen to boost productivity and ensure employees are reaching their full potential. A biometric T&A system ensures reporting is correct and cannot be forged.

Retail is booming, and it is another sector that relies heavily  on part-time staff who may well also be on zero-hours contracts. Supermarkets, clothing, Shoe shops, and jewelry outlets are all premises which can benefit from using systems to monitor their employees attendance.

Single Station Deployment

Designed to be installed and operated from a single machine, this package contains everything you need to start increasing attendance and timekeeping standards. The package includes: The Data EngineThe Enrolment Client, and the Endpoint Software, as well as a FastVein™ biometric scanner. The software suite is installed on a single computer (you supply) and is simple to setup – full telephone support is included for the first year.

Flexibility to suit your workspace

There are an infinite number of configurations available to perfectly accommodate the multitude of working environments that we experience in this day and age. Built upon a flexible and intuitive platform, the software can be run from a single device or many individual devices.

The three critical elements of the system are:

  • Data Engine
  • Enrolment Station
  • Endpoint

We will design a system to suit whatever your requirements are, whether you have 50 entrances or just one, or need to enrol people from different locations in an office or even at different offices around the world.

Endpoints serve as the 'clocking terminal'. This is where on a day-to-day basis system users will scan to confirm their attendance. Endpoints are available in two forms, the Software Endpoint, and the Interactive Endpoint. The endpoints can be customised to display your own corporate logo or any other image.

Software Endpoint

This is installed on a client machine, usually alongside the enrolment software and the data engine. This option keeps costs to a minimum and often suits smaller sites with a single entry / exit point. It is easy to install and can run in the background whilst performing other task on the laptop / computer.

Interactive Endpoint

Interactive endpoints are used on larger systems where you may have employees entering and exiting from various parts of a site. They can be deployed almost anywhere and can be set up as individual 'zones'. Unlike the software end point, they do not interrupt work on a client machine as they are standalone units.

The Enrolment Client software is installed where enrolment and vein template management activities take place. It comprises of a software package and Fastvein™ reader. It provides:

  • The control system for the Fastvein™ reader
  • Finger by finger enrolment capability
  • The facility to update user information

Typically this would be installed on a client machine in a Human Resources or Security Office.

The Data Engine manages the core elements of the system, providing oversight and control of the entire operation. The Data Engine is installed on a Customer's Server. It provides:

  • Central control of the system
  • Data management of credentials, event, and rules data.
  • Control & management of endpoints
  • Provision of web based user interface
  • Security Controls
